Our bilingual Kindergarten
Together we explore the world.

Our PhorMinis Kindergarten, with dedicated crèche and early years areas, provides a warm and safe environment where your child can playfully explore the bilingual world. Native-speaking educators lovingly guide the children in German and English making sure that each child receives individual support tailored to their needs. In our playfully designed Reception (pre-school), children in their final year of kindergarten are gently and individually prepared for primary school.

In our bright, light-flooded rooms, we work with a holistic educational concept.

Our teachers always focus on the individual strengths and interests of your child. We encourage creativity, independence and social skills while creating a safe and secure environment.

Why families choose our bilingual Kindergarten

1

Bilingualism through the immersion method

Your child will naturally and intuitively learn both German and English, as our experienced educators communicate exclusively in their native language. This makes becoming bilingual effortless and enjoyable.

2

Full-day care

With childcare hours from 07:00 to 18:00, we ensure flexible and reliable full-day care for you and your child.

3

High carer-to-child ratio

Thanks to our higher staff-to-child ratio, we can meet the needs of each individual child and build a close, trusting relationship.

4

Needs-oriented room concept

PhorMinis features thoughtfully designed, age-appropriate rooms that support your child's development at every stage. From cosy crèche rooms to stimulating early years spaces, each environment is tailored to meet the needs of the children.

5

Partially Open Concept

At PhorMinis we offer a balance of open and structured activity areas, providing both security and freedom. Children benefit from a sense of stability while also being encouraged to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace.

6

Healthy diet

Our catering partner "leckerlogisch." provides fresh, healthy organic food - for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Allergies, intolerances and religious requirements are taken into account.

PhorMinis
from crèche to reception (preschool)

In our kindergarten, we care for children aged 1 to 6 in age-appropriate groups.

Key focuses of our childcare

Our approach is rooted in our bilingual concept, the Berlin Education Plan, and strong collaboration with you as parents.

Bilingualism

Bilingualism through the immersion method

The immersion method is based on immersing children in an environment where both German and English are used in everyday situations. In our bilingual Phorms Kindergarten, this happens naturally as part of the daily routine. Your child gains more than just a head start in language and education; they begin to develop a global perspective.

Bilingualism

Linguistic adaptability

Children at PhorMinis learn both languages intuitively; the same way they’ve begun to learn their mother tongue. They quickly adapt to different language environments, and we support the spoken language with actions, gestures, and facial expressions to make the process smooth and natural.

Bilingualism

Early language comprehension

Through early immersion in both languages, your child will develop a sound understanding of vocabulary, grammar and cultural nuances.

Bilingualism

Enhanced cognitive abilities

Studies show that children who learn two languages early on are often more cognitively flexible and develop better problem-solving skills.

Bilingualism

Cultural openness

Immersion encourages children to appreciate and understand different cultures, as they immerse themselves in these worlds through the acquisition of language.

Federal Programme

"Language nurseries: Because language is the key to the world"

The focus of this federal programme, funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth, is the targeted linguistic support of children in internationally oriented nurseries. This allows us to add an additional specialist to our team, who focuses specifically on integrating language-based educational work into everyday activities, inclusive pedagogy, and collaboration with families.

Partnership in Education

Educational partnership between the kindergarten and parents

A strong partnership between parents and educators is crucial for each child’s development and provides the best basis for their development. Parent-educator meetings, newsletters, and our information board for daily activities round off the communication. This partnership strengthens the trust and bond between you, us and your child.

Important questions
about PhorMinis Berlin Prenzlauer Berg

  • What does my child eat at Kindergarten?

We provide balanced, regional, and certified organic meals, freshly prepared every day by the trained chefs from our caterer, leckerlogisch. Meal planning follows the quality standards of the German Nutrition Society, ensuring a nutritious diet.
Fresh water is available throughout the day, and at breakfast, children can choose from healthy beverage options such as herbal or fruit teas. Our menu typically includes fish once a week and organic poultry or beef twice a week—we do not serve pork.
Mealtimes are about more than just food—they foster a sense of community. Children eat together with their educators, learning good table manners and respectful behaviour. After lunch, children enjoy free playtime to run, explore, and recharge.

  • What is the admissions process for reception (preschool)?

Every child goes through a simple admissions process, which may vary slightly depending on the class level. This helps us get to know your child and understand their basic abilities, skills, and language development.

We focus on age-appropriate development, ensuring a relaxed and supportive environment. Children complete fun, age-appropriate tasks and can play and interact with peers of the same age.

  • Do I need a daycare voucher (Kita-Gutschein) from the city of Berlin?

Yes, admission is not possible without a daycare voucher (Kita-Voucher) from the City of Berlin.

We are happy to help you.

Do you have questions about our kindergarten, school or the registration process? We will be delighted to assist you with any queries.
